Globepulser publishes numbers, not opinions. Every figure links back to a public source and shows the year it refers to.

Price level

Our cost-of-living measure is the World Bank's ratio of the PPP conversion factor to the market exchange rate. It expresses how expensive a basket of goods and services is in each country relative to the United States (1.00). It is a national average: capitals and tourist hubs run higher, rural areas lower.

Income and output

GDP per person (PPP) reflects what the average resident produces, adjusted so that a dollar buys the same everywhere. GNI per person at market rates is closer to what incomes look like when converted to dollars.

Visa rules

Visa data comes from the open Passport Index dataset and is refreshed with each build. It covers ordinary passports and tourism. Diplomatic passports, work, study and residence permits follow different rules. Always confirm with the destination's official immigration site.
